Three very different decisions get confused constantly. Here is a clear framework for each.
Get a tune-up if…
Your system still heats and cools, is under about 12 years old, and hasn't been serviced in over a year. A seasonal AC tune-up or furnace tune-up restores lost capacity — dirty coils alone can cost 15-30% of efficiency — catches worn capacitors before they fail in a heat wave, and keeps your warranty valid.
Repair if…
